In recent years, Martine's art has evolved from stone carving and sculptural assemblages to collages, printmaking then digital imaging. She attended computer graphics courses at Rhode Island School of Design where she was introduced to the endless possibilities of photo-manipulation software.
In this sampling, different images are transformed with cut and paste, transparency effects, added colors, and countless overlapping layers that blend seamlessly into new compositions. Unlikely associations are rearranged in layers of complex variations, rhythms and echoes, until a new structure emerges. These images live in the world as archival prints in different sizes and on different substrates.
